Springboard Forward Seeking Fall 2005 Interns

SpringboardSpringboard Forward is seeking several fall 2005 interns to help on various projects. Springboard Forward partners with business and community organizations to improve job performance and promote upward mobility for the working poor.  Their three core programs provide coaching and career development services to low-wage workers after they get a job.  They also deliver two programs that assist homeless residents in Palo Alto with transitioning back to work and becoming self-sufficient.  In partnership with employers like Home Depot, Stanford University and the City of Palo Alto, Springboard Forward primarily serves clients in Silicon Valley from our office in Mountain View, CA.

Internship Overview and Projects:
 
Several positions are available, requiring 15 to 35 hours a week, and can be completed for credit.  The varying projects and responsibilities include the following:
 
1)         103 Club--Springboard is launching the first professional network for the working poor and needs help in marketing, running speed networking sessions, logistics, newsletters, event planning and more! 
 
2)          Website--Use marketing and writing skills to help depict and spread Springboard’s message to businesses, community-based organizations and the general public.  Web skills preferred but not required.
 
3)         Grants--Get direct experience in writing grants by working wiht a local non-profit and preparing both governmental and foundation grants.  This is great for indvidiuals’ resumes who seek to work in the social sector long-term and provides direct experience.
 
4)         Graphic Design--If you are interested in building your portfolio, we have exciting opportunities to design logos, websites, and documents.
 
4)         Other--Other, varying projects will include document design, opportuntiies to attend various trainings for our clients, writing, research on the economic development field and more!

5)         Positive attitude
 
Transportation reimbursements are available and some off-site work is possible.
