VolunteerMatch, developers of the VolunteerMatch.org Web site, is recruiting for a Network Communications Associate to join our Public Services Group.  As part of the VolunteerMatch team, you will become part of a social enterprise putting the power of the Internet to good use.  You will play a key role in supporting the needs of VolunteerMatch’s growing network of users - volunteers, nonprofits, and partners – and maintaining strong relationships with them.  You will also play a key role in the ongoing development of the service as an advocate and voice of the user.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Director of Public Services Group, the Network Communications Associate will be integral to the growth of the service.  Specific functions include:

  • Provide critical support to VolunteerMatch users - volunteers, nonprofits, and partners – including e-mail and phone support
  • Ensure user inquiries are handled in professional and timely manner, with a focus on maintaining strong VolunteerMatch reputation and positive user-experience
  • Assist in overseeing organization’s e-mail support system and software tool 
  • Participate in a cross-functional web development team to bring the voice of the user to the product development planning and strategy.
  • Participate in testing, quality assurance and quality control projects
  • Create and edit instructional content, including site help and user guides, etc.
  • Assist in writing email templates and managing template library
  • Responsible for managing user accounts and account approvals
  • Provide periodic partner activity tracking and reporting
  • Provide support to the VolunteerMatch volunteer program
  • Participate in periodic user research and surveys
  • Working closely with PSG team, and providing periodic support to Director for strategic development projects
     

Requirements:

·         1-2 years experience
·         BA/BS degree
·         Internet experience required
·         HTML skills preferred
·         Previous customer support experience helpful
·         Solid written, verbal and inter-personal communication skills
·         Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented
·         Passionate team-player who can contribute his/her talents towards promoting social responsibility
·         Creative thinker also able to work independently
·         Strong personal initiative and the ability to work successfully under multiple deadlines
